Summer Reading and Activities at the Library

Stop in and pick up our Summer Reading & Activities Flier. This summer we have a number of fun events scheduled for children in our community. In June we begin with our annual summer reading program open to students in grades Pre-K through 8 grades. Participants will earn prizes for the number of minutes spent reading each week. Summer reading helps to prevent summer slide, and keeps your child’s reading skills at a level that will help to succeed when they begin school in the fall.

Lego Club and the movies are free and open to students Pre-K through 5th grade. For more information on both activities see our flier or watch our Facebook page.

Our summer activities conclude on Friday August 12th at 10:00 am when Mr. Twister will present a fun filled program featuring balloon tricks for kids of all ages. Following the performance will be a recognition of participants who have completed the United Way’s 1000 Book Before Kindergarten.

I would like to encourage anyone interested in our summer programs to stop in the Library and pick up a summer schedule, or watch for the flier sent home from school. Our programs and activities are open to all children in our area, or those just visiting. Summer looks busy at the Library, and we hope you will and your family will participant in one or more or our activities.
